William Redondo Proctor was born September 1916. He attended Continental school, Tucson High School (’34 or ’35) and the University of Arizona.

He was employed by the U.S. Civilian Conservation Corps 1940-41. His WWII draft card states his work camp at Pine, Camp Verde and Grand Canyon, AZ. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Corps in July 1941.

June 1945 he became a crew chief in the “Flying Shark” Squadron of the famous “Flying Tigers” Fighter group.

William had quite the collection of international recipes from his military travels. His creative outlet was cooking. While stationed in Texas he lived with his brothers family and served up some family favorites.

William later moved to Spokane, Washington. He raised his nephew after his sister Eladia passed away.

William R Proctor died March 1978.
